We're often asked why a couple should hire a wedding planner and while we have a long list of reasons the big picture reason is that on the day of the wedding, we ensure everything goes smoothly and looks picture perfect. We're the eyes and ears for the bride and groom and take care of all the little (and large) tasks they would have otherwise delegated to a friend or family member.
Here are 10 ways a wedding planner can help you on your wedding day.
Pre-Wedding
Before the wedding, your wedding planner will meet with you several times to discuss your vision for the day and to understand what stage of the planning process you're in. They will also help you with the following:
- A wedding planner will help you stay focused on your planning time line.
- Can provide you with vendor recommendations.
- Your wedding planner will help you create a detailed timeline for your wedding day (for both the ceremony and reception).
- Liaise with your vendors to confirm contract commitments such as delivery times, items being delivered and/or setup details.
- Your wedding planner will also be there for you as a sounding board when and if the planning starts to be more stressful than fun!
Wedding Day
Your wedding planner is your fairy godmother on the big day. Besides making sure the whole day runs on time and without a hitch, your wedding planner will:
- Set up your place cards, favours, guest book and any other personal items needed at the reception.
- Help set up your décor items.
- Supervise arrival of all vendors and handle remaining vendor payments.
- Act as liaison between all vendors so they bride and groom can enjoy their reception.
- Take care of any unexpected matters that could happen throughout the day and evening.
