4 Ways to Avoid Wedding Debt

Planning a dream wedding doesn't always have to break the bank. To help you keep your budget in check during the planning process, we're sharing 4 ways you can avoid wedding debt.
  1. Decide as a couple what your maximum budget is and how much each person will be contributing to the overall budget. Will you go 50/50, 60/40, 80/20? Making sure you're both on board before the planning gets underway will help you keep to your wedding budget.
  2. Save a small portion of your budget for incidentals. Ideally, 10% of your budget should be saved for any wedding day emergencies.
  3. Don't spend money you don't have. In other words, make it a rule to only use the cash you have saved to put towards any and all wedding expenses.
  4. Shop around and gather multiple quotes before settling on any wedding vendors then choose the vendor you like the most and who's pricing aligns with your budget. We swear by the three quote rule!
Tell us, how do you ensure you don't go over budget when planning your wedding or special event?
