Bachelorette Ali and Roberto Engaged

If you tuned into this season's The Bachelorette, it shouldn’t have been that hard to guess that Roberto Martinez would ultimately win Ali Fedotowsky’s heart. From receiving the first impression rose to sharing a sky-high kiss on their first date, to performing in The Lion King together to salsa dancing in the streets of Turkey, it seemed pretty obvious to us that she was smitten with the hunky Latino.

Although Roberto is cute with those sexy dimples, I must admit, I was rooting for Chris, he is definitely more my type (just don’t tell my husband!).

Roberto proposed to Ali with a stunning platinum ring, designed specially with Ali in mind, by famed jeweller Neil Lane. Earlier in the season (unbeknownst to viewers) Mr. Lane himself met with Ali to choose her dream ring. The end result was a 3.03 carat central asscher-cut diamond, accented with 184 round brilliant cut diamonds, valued at $50,000. Described as both girly and sophisticated, the ring was placed amongst other rings during Roberto’s selection.

Luckily for Ali, Roberto knew exactly which ring she would prefer, as he selected the jewellers special design for his romantic proposal.

With rumours circulating for a Spring/Summer 2011 wedding date, we are keeping our fingers crossed for the happy couple. It would be a shame to have to give back such a beautiful ring!
