Real Wedding Spotlight: Lily & Jeff

I know, I know, it's been too long. The last several months have been extremely busy, as I've been getting ready for wedding season, in addition, to a new family arrival. With that said, I'll be going off on Maternity Leave again in the next couple of weeks. At least this time I'll have a legitimate reason for not posting.

Before I take (another) break, I wanted to share this link with you all. The wedding of one of our past clients, Lily & Jeff, was featured on the Weddingful blog yesterday. They were married in February 2012 and were such a pleasure to work with! It was a great experience working with this couple as they incorporated some cultural traditions into their wedding day.

Please check out their featured wedding blog post for more details and pictures.

Real Wedding: Renata & Ricky

We had the pleasure of working with Renata and Ricky last Fall as they started their life together. We had so much fun helping these two lovebirds and wish them all the best. Photographs are compliments of Advantage Music & Vision (AMV).

The elegant wedding reception took place at the Mississauga Convention Centre, where a colour palette of purple and white was featured in the beautiful floral centerpieces done by Sue Gallo Designs. The head table backdrop was created by Elegante Decor.

The couple celebrated their Portuguese and Caribbean backgrounds with a lot of food and a lot of dancing, including a live ballroom performance which thrilled their guests.

A big thank you to Renata and Ricky for letting us be a part of their magical day!

Real Wedding: Muskoka Dreams

Our first real wedding feature is courtesy of Cynthia Martyn Events. Simply put, this wedding takes my breath away - the location, colour palette, floral design, and decor work effortlessly together to make this bride's dream wedding come true.

The wedding was held at The Lake Joseph Club in the Muskoka region, just north of Toronto. For the ceremony, large floral balls were anchored off the dock in lieu of traditional aisle decor.

The floral arrangements, including the bouquets, were done in shades of mocha, cream, blush, and gold. A perfect representation of the overall colour scheme, including the beautiful bridesmaid dresses in blush.

The centerpieces on both the head table and guests' tables were created in crystal vases atop of mirrors to add dimension to the table landscape.

The wedding cake was simple, yet elegantly designed with sugar flowers and a touch of bling.

A Parisian lounge bordered the dance floor to allow guests to rest and mingle.

Wedding Spotlight: Ashley & Bobby

Ashley and Bobby’s country chic fall wedding took place on September 18, 2010. An absolute pleasure to work with, this down-to-earth couple incorporated many personal elements into their wedding day, reflecting their personalities and their strong family bond.

The ceremony and reception took place at Ashley’s family’s residence, located on a sprawling countryside property. The ceremony was setup in the back of the property, with the tented reception taking place towards the front. Hand carved signs, created by the bride’s father, were placed throughout the grounds, directing guests and furry friends.

After the ceremony was over, guests were invited to mingle at the cocktail reception just outside the tent, while Serge from Photografika took Ashley and Bobby’s wedding photos. The guests’ place cards were hung with clothespins between two trees, located beside the treasure chest of well wishes from the guests.
McLean-Sherwood Party Rental provided all rented items for the reception: the tent, tables, linens, chairs, and dance floor. While the bouquets, boutonnieres, and centerpiece flowers were provided by Devine Design, Ashley’s father carved each of the vases himself from trees found on his property. Ashley’s mother put together a photo collage, which sat on the gift table, and was a lovely surprise for the bride and groom when they walked into the tent. The children in attendance were also surprised to find gift bags filled with toys and activities for them at each table. It is very clear to us that family means a lot to this newly wedded couple.

In order for each table to get in line for the buffet dinner, provided by Silver Thyme Catering, the MCs had the guests play a trivia game to determine who would go first, second, third, etc. We give kudos to the MCs for being able to decipher between all the tables shouting out their answers. After every last morsel of food was gone, the sweets table was put out. The wedding cake, which was made by a close friend of Ashley’s Grandmother, looked beautiful and tasted delicious.

Ashley and Bobby hosted a wedding with a lot of personal touches for all their friends and family to remember forever and always. We hope they had fun on their European honeymoon!

Wedding Spotlight: Roma & Errol

The Journey Begins…and so it did on September 10th, 2010 at Paletta Lakefront Mansion in Burlington, ON.  We thoroughly enjoyed working with Roma and Errol to help make their fall travels themed wedding come true.

Bucking tradition, the couple, along with the wedding party, started their photo session before the ceremony to take pictures along downtown Burlington’s waterfront. The coverage continued at Paletta’s Lakefront Park. What gorgeous backdrops – we are really excited to see the photos that Rebecca and Daniella, from Rebecca Lozer Photography, took of the happy couple and their entourage!
Having a venue that could accommodate both the ceremony and reception was very important for Roma and Errol as there were several out of town guests in attendance, including the Bride’s Parents, who had travelled all the way from the Philippines.

After the ceremony took place on the Lakefront Terrace, guests continue to mingle throughout Paletta’s beautiful grounds before heading inside. Just inside the foyer, guests were welcomed with favours of personalized M&Ms and slippers from the Philippines. The slippers were such a hit with the ladies that they were all gone before the dancing had even begun!

As we could go on and on about this wedding’s details, we decided to prepare a “Top 3” list, based on the guests’ comments, to sum up the rest of the evening.

1) The never-ending food, provided by Michelangelo’s Banquet and Convention Centre. Believe us when we say it was mouth-watering, and with so many different choices, there was definitely something for everyone.

2) Roma and Errol’s wedding cake, created by Grace Cakes. Not only was it a work of art, but it was delicious too!

3) The music which kept the dance floor packed all night long, supplied by Jason from Bill Copeland DJ Service.

We had so much fun helping Roma and Errol have a stress-free day, and being there to watch them celebrate with their family and friends. We send our congratulations out to this amazing couple once again!

Stay tuned for more photos from Rebecca Lozer Photography.
